Foundation and Practitioner
PRINCE2® is the best practice project management framework that can be used for any type of project, regardless of scope, size or sector. The UK’s de facto standard approach, PRINCE2® provides everyone involved in a project with a common language and framework to manage a project. The widespread use of PRINCE2® owes much to the fact that the method is easily tailored and scaled so that it can be applied to all projects.
What are the benefits?
- Recognised worldwide as a standard method for project management
- Use of PRINCE2® in projects enables common language, systems and procedures
- Mutual understanding of requirements between practitioners enables efficiency gains and cost savings
- Provides the knowledge and confidence to manage projects successfully in your workplace
- Improves career prospects – increasingly viewed as an essential qualification
Foundation (3 day course)
This tutor-led delivery provides a comprehensive introduction to PRINCE2®. You will cover each of the 7 Processes, Themes and Principles included within the PRINCE2® manual. Your tutor will guide you through practical work to make the framework come to life so that you can apply it in practice.
At the end of the third day you will sit a 1 hour multiple choice examination. You must correctly answer 35 of the 70 questions in order to pass this closed book examination.
Practitioner (2 day course)
This builds upon the detailed knowledge of PRINCE2® gained at Foundation stage. You will study the effective use and application of PRINCE2® within real projects through case studies and workshops.
You must have successfully passed the Foundation course or satisfied AXELOS recognised accredited prior learning before you can study this course and sit the examination. You may have done this with us or we will check your status on the APMG Successful Candidate Register if you have sat the examination previously. The 2½ hour open book examination requires 55% or 44 out of 80 to pass. Those wishing to retain registered Practitioner status will need to sit a new examination every 3-5 years.
PRINCE2® courses are demanding and require substantial effort. Pre-course reading is sent to delegates 4 weeks prior to the start of a course (unless the delegate books on to the course within that timescale). It is strongly recommended that 10-15 hours of pre-course reading is completed before the course commences. Delegates are also expected to complete evening work throughout the course.
