‘Begin at the beginning,’ the King said gravely, ‘and go on till you come to the end; then stop.’
The ability to manage projects is central not only to managing change but is core to what so many of the working population do day to day. No matter whether you create a meal in a restaurant, build a bridge or write a policy document, you are managing a project. The most popular framework designed to manage projects to delivery on time and to budget in the UK is PRINCE2®. If you require support in introducing this methodology to your organisation, we can help.
Many people appear to believe PRINCE2® is synonymous with project management. It is not the whole story. The Association for Project Management (APM) offers a range of qualifications testing knowledge and understanding of the APM Body of Knowledge. This recognises the PRINCE2® framework but goes beyond that methodology and grapples with the behavioural aspects of project teams, for example.
You might prefer to learn about project management (or aspects of project management) and not require any formal accreditation. That is fine. Alternatively you might view project management as an aspect of your wider development and seek learning that maps onto a framework such as ILM so that you accumulate credits on the Qualifications and Credits Framework (QCF). Again, that’s fine. We are happy to support these approaches.
If you are relatively new to project management, you might be interested in the introductory course that we offer here.
